Understanding Frozen Shoulder
Frozen shoulder, medically known as Adhesive Capsulitis, is a condition characterized by stiffness, severe pain, and progressive limitation of motion in the shoulder joint. The connective tissue surrounding the shoulder joint capsule becomes thick, tight, and inflamed, forming scar tissue that restricts joint movements.
It typically goes through three stages: freezing (increasing pain and stiffness), frozen (reduced pain but extreme stiffness), and thawing (gradual return of mobility). We focus on accelerating the thawing and recovery process naturally.
Shoulder Symptoms We Treat
- Severe Shoulder Stiffness: Inability to lift your arm upwards or rotate it outwards.
- Dull, Aching Pain: Persistent shoulder ache that worsens at night, making sleeping on the affected side difficult.
- Restricted Daily Movement: Difficulty dressing, combing hair, or reaching for your back pocket.
- Muscle Spasms: Pain radiating from the shoulder to the neck or upper arm muscles.
Our Non-Surgical Treatment Approach
Our manual therapy approach focuses on gentle, non-surgical mobilization of the shoulder joint capsule to restore your movement naturally.
- Shoulder Girdle Mobilization: Gentle manual therapy to break down capsule adhesions and restore joint movement space.
- Cervical & Thoracic Correction: Adjusting the neck and upper back. Misalignment here often causes shoulder compensation, making recovery slower.
- Targeted Range-of-Motion Rehabilitation: Gentle stretching exercises to keep the shoulder capsule active.
- Complementary Therapies: To speed up recovery and reduce muscle spasms, we integrate clinical Acupuncture and Dry Cupping Therapy based on patient needs.
